Afternoon Tea Break: A Brummie Home and Abroad

In a new series for 2018, we want to hear all about your afternoon tea exploits!

We're interviewing friends of the blog and asking them what they enjoy most about afternoon tea. First to join us for a cup of tea and a chat is travel blogger Emmalene from A Brummie Home and Abroad.

Where is your favourite place to have afternoon tea and why?

The Edgbaston Hotel in Birmingham is elegant, classy and just a little bit special! They combine a wonderful setting, with lush savouries and desserts, and just a little bit of theatre too.

What's the best part of afternoon tea?

The company! Whoever I'm with, it's a fantastic opportunity to catch up over a relaxing afternoon tea experience.

What do you like to drink with your afternoon tea?

Bubbles will always be my first preference! But if not, i like a refreshing berry flavoured tea to complement my food.

And finally.... Jam first or cream first?

Cream. I would always butter bread then add a filing...it works the same with scones (rhyming with gone, not cone!)

Thanks Emmalene - the Edgbaston Hotel sounds fabulous, and you raise a very good point about scones and bread!

We'd love to hear your thoughts about afternoon tea - just fill in our form and you could be the next star of our blog!
